Actor Ricardo Lori talks with Ben Hauck about his experiences working as a financial core actor. In the interview, Ricardo shares what motivated his move to “go fi-core” and how he went about declaring the status to his union, SAG-AFTRA. He explains what he gained and what he lost in becoming a “fee-paying non-member,” and what changes when you submit, audition, and work as a fi-core actor. Ricardo also covers why you should or shouldn’t declare financial core status, even detailing what it would take for him to re-join the union. Ben introduces the interview with information on the history of the term “financial core” and how it is a right backed by the United States Supreme Court.
